Picture taken by Sam Gaglio Description: This picture was taken 2011-12-28. It was taken in Howardsville VA. Madison had taken her first deer, a doe, earlier in the year and was hunting the rifle season with me in VA with her CVA wolf muzzleloader. VA allows dogs to chase the deer but where we hunted we do not do that. With only minutes left in legal light the wind stopped and things went very quiet. I noticed a couple deer try to sneak out of the woods. As they moved from left to right we could hear them walking in the brush but couldn't see them. Finally I saw a deer pop its head out in a clearing. I moved her gun to face the area and told her to line up on the deer. She finally found the deer in the scope and as I tried to get back on it with my Steiner Predator binos she asked if she could shoot. I said yes and the deer dropped in its tracks! 80yds and an 8pt buck, her first buck! I couldn't be more proud of my hunting buddy and all she could talk about for the next week was all the places she wants to hunt next season.
